Timing Analysis of Doppler Filter Bank with Parallel Processing Configuration

A Doppler filter bank (DFB) is the heart of pulsed Doppler radar and gives clutter filtering and coherent integration. With these capabilities, it provides the improvement of detection probability as well as velocity discrimination, which can detect small targets in clutter environment. This paper implements a DFB with parallel processing configuration using multiple digital signal processors (DSPs). By analyzing distribution time of the input data, computation time of the algorithm, transfer time of the output data and the ratio of computation time to total processing time, it is shown that the general timing diagram for parallel processing can be applied to the implemented DFB.
